Fitz, Don, Jason, Brent.
We are Majestic Mother.
There's a whole lot of live music experience in this band! Jax Beach's 9E was ended with the departure of Tony Prat, and that meant that Brent, Jason and Don were left a man short. But Brent had a fortuitous conversation while surfing at the Poles with Mike Fitzgerald, the front man for Jacksonville's seminal DarkHorse Saloon, of which Jason has been a member for at least a decade. One thing led to another and soon Fitzy was jamming with Brent and Don at Jason's rehearsal space. Meanwhile, Jason was surfing in Hawaii or skiing in Utah... I think both, actually. Obviously not at the same time. In a short amout of time, those three had a few songs, and a few more parts of songs worked out. It seemed promising. But so far, Jason had only heard the bits and pieces we sent over the phone. This was easy. This was getting good, in a short amount of time.
In short order, there were a bunch of completed songs and soon we were in Chris Flower's studio, recording what would be the first Majestic Mother album, Feel It. We played a bunch of shows in Jacksonville over the next year, but we'd left a few out there, and those songs, plus a few more took another year or more to put to tape. For you youngsters, that means 'to record', and record we did, in Nashville, at a really incredible studio, with some very capable people who know their way around a studio. The follow up to Feel It is a seven-song record called
"Everything's gonna be alright ...this time"
out in November of 2024.
The band has had great response to the live shows--including closing down Pete's Bar's gargantuan 90th anniversary party. Insane.
stay tuned...
